A Slice of Tradition: THe HIstory of the Wedding Cake

 

A conceptual design for an extravagant Wedding Cake Exhibition.

A Slice of Tradition aims to take visitors through a tiered experience to become fully immersed in the grandeur of the wedding cake and its rituals, and perhaps guiding prospective couples towards a decision on their own wedding cakes.

 
 
 
 
 

design and Architecture

The architecture, inspired by the Guggenheim museum, of the conceptual building is designed to be part of the 'wedding cake' experience.

The floors are designed to imitate the tiers of a wedding cake, while the windows are frosted with a lace-like fencing pattern which mimic common decorative features of wedding cakes. The building features a limited use of color to emphasize the purity and elegance associated with the color white at weddings
